We need your help.  All 100 % donations goes to help
the people of Kenya.

ODMI recently visited Mumias, Kenya.  With your help, we were able to
take new clothing and multivitamins to many of the orphans.  The need is
still great.

Many of the widows and orphans are infected with the HIV virus.  Pastors
in the area work diligently to reach the remote villages.  Due to a drought
there is a tremendous lack of food and many are becoming ill.

With your help we can provide safe food for these wonderful people

One big sack of maize corn cost 90 kilogramms cost $ 45
beans one sack 90 kilogramms costs $ 70.
To finish this year they require 20 sacks of corn and 7 sacks of beans
Can you help with a donation of $45 or more?
You can feed an entire village, including orphans, for just $50 a month
Every little bit helps!

These are the mats the children sleep on

For just a $10 donation we can purchase new and clean mats
for these children

ODMI needs your help!  Will you help us?
These children sleep in a small African home with dirt floors.  Pastor
Lucas and Sister Jane do their best to care for the many orphans who
come to them for help.  They are asking for our help. ODMI would like to
build a bigger and safer building for the children.  Yes! An orphanage!
With your help we can do it!

Look at the smiles!  They were very happy and thankful to receive their
new clothes!  Thank you to all who made this trip to Kenya possible!

The Lord has put upon Pastor Lucas' heart to plant churches in
unreached places.  These churches are supported by free will offerings
from people who share the same vision and burden.  They disciple and
train the churches to effectively reach their own home areas with the
Gospel.

Orphanage - a note from Pastor Lucas Obanda

In our outreaches, we have encountered many orphans and street children.
These
less fortunate children are total orphans without both parents.  They have
suffered
much rejection and we need to show them love.  The church has already
identified
and is supporting 16 children (orphans).  The premises these less fortunate
children use is inhuman and unhealthy and we are now trusting God for an
Orphanage Centre.  We support these orphans with the following:

....Provide three meals daily with a balanced diet.

....Offer routine medical screening and immunization.

....Provide Christian, moral ethics and secular education.

....Provide a sheltered home and disciplined environment conducive to
character building and training.

Widows and Orphans Program

This program is working to provide for widows and orphans and to keep the
school
functioning for the young children in the area.  Early education is not mandatory
in
Kenya.  The parents are expected to do it. If the parents are unable or if there
are
no parents, the children miss the preparation they need to enter school.  The
New
Hope Fellowship Church has had an early childhood school for eight years.  The
teacher works without a salary and lives on the contributions of her student's
parents who are very poor and the people of the small church, also very poor.
She
has been in her position since the school opened eight year ago.  She also
cares
for a mentally handicapped boy.

Pastor Lucas and Jane Obanda started a program that will provide both income
and food for the children in the school as well as the widows and orphans in the
community.  They have purchased three goats and already have a new baby.
They will continue to breed the goats and use them for milk and eventually
meat.
They also have some chickens for eggs and meat.

Their need is for good milk cows, not just the native cows.  They will breed these
to
increase the herd and sell, and they will provide milk for the children.  They also
need more goats and chickens.  They have space for the livestock, but they
would
like to buy a tract of land on which to raise some crops.  Land can be leased but
once it is improved and producing , the landlord tends to want it back. The best
way
is to buy--but money for leasing and seed is better than nothing.

Below is a list of costs.  Any contribution would be appreciated.  These are good
honest people with hearts for the Lord and a calling to do this work.  All of your
contribution will go toward the project.  There will be no "administrative costs"
here.

....Dairy Cows @ 30,000KSH = about $500-$571 each.

....Goats @ 2000 KSH each = about $28 each

....Laying Hens @ 300 KSH = about $4.00...only a few can produce lots more!

....Land around Mumias runs about $2500 an acre.  Two or Three acres would
get
the job done.
